The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that the Libyan authorities have pardoned 45 Egyptians being detained in Libyan prisons in different cases. Ambassador Ahmed Rizk, assistant foreign minister for consular affairs and Egyptians abroad, said the pardon was granted on the occasion of the Greater Bairam. He added that measures are being taken to repatriate the detainees to Egypt through the Egyptian embassy in Libya and in coordination with the Libyan authorities. Rizk explained that Libyan authorities had released 128 Egyptians for the celebrations for the September 1 Revolution, adding that they have already been repatriated.
