State-owned fixed-line telephone provider Telecom Egypt (TE) realized net profits of LE2.5 billion in the third quarter of this year -- accounting for 18 percent of some LE7.7 billion worth of total billings -- representing a three percent increase on the same period last year. "Our retail services alone made LE4.5 billion vs. only LE1.6 billion worth of debts, of which we have already paid back LE400 million," TE CEO Tareq Tantawi said at a press conference on Wednesday.
