Cairo - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting, on Monday, with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk. Shoukry conveyed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's greetings to Belarus President. Egypt's Foreign Minister delivered a message from El-Sisi to his Belarusian counterpart that reflects Egypt's keenness on developing relations between the two sides. Belarus will fulfill all agreements with Egypt, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the meeting, BelTA has learned. "I would like to assure you that we will fulfill all our agreements. Everything will depend on you, the Egyptian people. We can build our presence in Egypt as soon as you wish," Alexander Lukashenko said. The head of state said that the negotiations which took place during the official visit to Egypt in January 2017 were productive. "That was a good and, I hope, very successful visit. Back then the Egyptian president and I reached an agreement on many things. Your visit is very important, it is a landmark visit because it reminds us about our agreements. High-level visits of the Belarusian government to Egypt or the Egyptian government to Belarus mean a lot in the implementation of agreements which were reached during the talks. I think that Belarus will be useful in the economic growth and development of Egypt," Alexander Lukashenko said. The Belarusian president invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Belarus at any convenient time. The visit of Sameh Shoukry is the first visit of the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs to Belarus in the history of bilateral relations and is viewed as a stage in the preparations for the official visit of the Egyptian president to Belarus.
