Berlin - Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held on Sunday important talks with his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel, in German capital Berlin about the bilateral relations and how to enhance them, said Ahmed Abu Zeid, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, in a statement. During the talks, the two ministers agreed to boost cooperation between the two countries in different areas. This is evidenced by mass investments in various fields like power and transportation, as well as the coordination between the two countries in international events. During the visit, Shoukry and Gabriel signed a cooperation agreement between both countries on migration with common interest for the two countries as well as ways to face illegal migration, not only on the security level, but also on the economic and social ones. The two ministers also discussed regional issues, especially Egypt's assessment of the situation in Libya and Syria as well as the exerted Egyptian efforts in reviving the Israel-Palestine peace talks, added Ahmed Abu Zeid. The two ministers also discussed coordinating in international events and Germany's support to Egypt's candidate for the post of UNESCO director general, ambassador Moshira Khattab. The two ministers concluded the talks with discussions on the Qatari crisis, both stressing the imperativeness of the Qatari regime to stop funding and supporting terrorism.
