Cairo - The Qatari channel Al Jazeera Mubasher in Egypt is on trial Tuesday by a court in Cairo on charges of interpolating a statement by a police officer called Mamdouh Mahmoud in a documentary film produced by the channel. The police officer filed a case against the channel accusing it of interpolating his statement given during shooting a documentary film. The case petition read that the Qatari channel broadcasted a documentary film titled Eyes of Freedom, Street of Death in which the police officer was tackling the state of security lax following the January 25 Revolution. Yet the channel interpolated the statement and mixed it with other negative statements for youth. The film caused trouble for the police officer and distorted the image of Egypt and its National Police (ENP).
