Cairo – Following her graduation from high school suma cum laude, student Mariam Fateh Al-Bab, who challenged setbacks and difficult living conditions, has recently become the talk of the town in Egypt; and in just no time at all, she is making headlines for her success and excellence in Al-Thanaweya Amma. Mariam got a 99% grade in the Al-Thanaweya Amma, i.e. secondary school diploma in Egypt. She had a different success story that started since her childhood, when she used to be called "Maryam, the doctor". Mariam's father, who works as a "gatekeeper," was a source of pride and inspiration to her. She and her family live in a single room, and her father is a poor door attendant. Her hard work has finally paid off as she ranked as top of her class in the East Cairo Educational Administration.
