Dodoma - Egypt's Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abd El-Aaty started a three-day visit to Tanzania to be followed by a visit to Kenya. In a statement issued on Monday, Egyptian Ambassador to Tanzania Yasser El-Shawaf said that Abdel Aaty headed to Zanzibar Island where he had a meeting with the ministers of irrigation, agriculture, and trade. Shawaf further underlined that the meetings with the three ministers focused on promoting joint cooperation. The minister will also have a meeting with the Tanzanian minister of water to discuss issues of common interest including development projects provided by Egypt to the African country, topped by the third phase of digging wells. Abdel-Aaty toured the 225 acres farm, Egypt set up to teach the Tanzanian farmers the up-to-date techniques in irrigation and greenhouses.
