Cairo – Mourad Khedr, an adviser at Egypt's Arab Council for Studies, Training and Sustainable Development, said that the escalation of terrorist attacks in Egypt is closely linked to Qatar's crisis with the Arab countries. Khedr explained that the terrorist groups in Egypt received huge funding from Qatari intelligence to carry out the largest number of terrorist attacks. He pointed out that Qatar's refusal to the demands of Arab countries prove that Doha is involved in all terrorist operations launched in the Arab countries. Khedr praised the role played by Egyptian security forces and army, condemning the recent terrorist attacks launched in Egypt's North Sinai. On July 7, terrorist gunmen with a booby-trapped vehicle targeted a security checkpoint force in Egypt's North Sinai, leaving at least 26 servicemen dead and injured.
