Cairo- Within a span of two days, the office of complaints of Egypt's Ministry of Immigration revealed that it has received 60 complaints from the Egyptians living in Qatar after the Egypt cut diplomatic ties with the Gulf state. The Egyptian government decided to cut the diplomatic ties with Qatar along with a number of other Arab countries, including the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Libya and Yemen in protest against Qatari support for terrorist groups and its interference in internal affairs of Arab countries. Most complaints are encompassed around a state of fear and panic among the Egyptians living in Qatar over the current position between the two countries. Some inquiries dealt with people asking for advice whether to return to Egypt or not, as well as questions about bank transfers. On its part, the ministry has set up a hotline that Egyptians in Qatar can call if facing an urgent or emergency situation. Ambassador Nabila Makram, Minister of State for Migration and Egyptians Affairs Abroad, asked the Egyptian community in Qatar to contact the ministry directly for any help needed.
