Fayium (Egypt) - Friends and colleagues of the prominent translator Denys Johnson-Davies, were there while the deceased was being delivered to his last resting place in the Fayoum governorate(100 kilometres (62 miles) southwest of Cairo) yesterday. Davies lived most of his life between Marrakesh (Morocco) and Cairo. He died in Egypt on May 22, 2017. On his Facebook page, Al-Sherouk publishing house founder Ibrahim Al-Moa'allem said: "We have lost the distinguished Johnson Davis, a great friend and noble man. He was a prominent figure in translation and writing, and one of the great people who conveyed Arabic literature, and the spirit of religious and Islamic thought that is open and enlightenment to the world.
