Cairo - Merit House of Publication called upon a number of Egyptian intellectuals and writers to rally together at its headquarters in Cairo to start a 24-hour hunger in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners. Tuesday, May 23, marked the 37th day of the mass hunger strike by the Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails in protest against the repressive approach adopted by the Israeli authorities against them. Artist Ahmed Ismail said, on his Facebook page, that he and a number of other artists will participate in a benefit concert in support of the prisoners during the 24-hour hunger strike with a number of other artists. He expressed his love for the land by saying, "Palestine is Arab from the river to the sea."
