Cairo - The Foreign Ministry condemned in the strongest terms Monday's terrorist attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester city that left 22 persons dead and nearly 50 others injured. In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid conveyed Egypt's deep condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a swift recovery. Such a blatant attack, which took place a few days after the Riyadh-hosted summit on fighting terrorism, reflected the urgent need to swiftly act on setting up effective mechanisms and taking clear-cut measures to uproot terrorism and dry up its sources in view of President Abdel Fatah El-Sis's overall vision which he floated at the Arab-Islamic-American Summit that was held in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, the spokesperson added. He also expressed Egypt's solidarity with the British government and people in facing terrorism and attempts to intimidate peaceful citizens.
