Kuwait - Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held talks, in Kuwait on Monday, with members of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Economic Cooperation Council on promoting economic cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, El-Sisi praised the council's role since its establishment in November 2015 in boosting economic ties between the two countries, Presidential Spokesperson, Alaa Youssef said in statements. The president asserted Egypt's keenness on keeping open the channels of communication with Kuwaiti investors to remove all obstacles facing them, stressing the private sector's role in fostering economic cooperation between the two countries, the spokesperson added. The president also reviewed national projects carried out in Egypt, topped by the Suez Canal Area Development Project, as well as measures taken to improve the investment climate, including the new investment law, he added. For their part, the council's members welcomed El-Sis's visit to Kuwait, expressing keenness on increasing Kuwaiti investments in Egypt, Youssef said. They also lauded steps taken by the Egyptian government to reform the country's economy and help improve the business climate, he added. On Sunday, El-Sisi arrived in Kuwait, the first leg of his Gulf tour that will also take him to Bahrain.
