The Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for deadly suicide attacks targeted two churches in during the Palm Sunday celebrations, according to a statement released by the IS terrorist group. The terrorist organization revealed the identity of the suicide bombers, saying that the first attack was carried out by a militant called "Abu Al-Baraa Al-Masri" at Saint Mark's Cathedral in Alexandria, while the other attack targeted the St. George Church in Tanta was conducted by Abu Ishaq Al-Masri. The attacks follow the success of Egyptian military in the elimination of terrorist elements from Jabal El-Halal area in the middle of Sinai amid wide military operation held in the last month. The terrorist group warned that it would escalate attacks against Egyptian facilities. According to the Egyptian health ministry, the two bombings Sunday killed at least 44 people and injured at least 126 others.
