CAIRO – Controversial Egyptian belly-dancer Sama El-Masri has reportedly announced that she is poised to sign a contract for a satellite channel that will be hiring her to host a serious ‘religious or didactic program' during the holy month of Ramadan, the annual spiritual season of Muslims, tackling the issue of disobedience of the parents. El-Masri tweeted saying that she has already started shooting the show. "I am dead serious about it. I will host religious figures to talk about the importance of respecting parents and the religious consequences for those who disobey their parents." To Egyptians, the bizarre idea of ‘a belly-dancer preaches them on religion and good conduct,' is unprecedented and unheard of. Sama El-Masri, is an Egyptian actress, belly dancer, television personality. She began to work at Mehwar TV Channel following her graduation from the Faculty of Arts and has also appeared in three cinema films since 2008. Sama's announcement raised a great hue and cry about corrupt representation, particularly as El-Masri has gained notoriety for being decadent, unreserved and wanton woman on satellite TV. Therefore, preaching is a paradigm shift in her life, as she herself put it in one of her tweets. People think she is completely unfit for preaching or talking nice. In a tweet on her official twitter page on Sunday, El Masri confirmed the news, and she said that further information on her ‘probable program' will be revealed soon.
