Cairo - Egypt is trying new tactics to prevent extremist groups fighting the Egyptian state from winning. It is all about raising religious awareness of the enormity of the responsibility to reclaim Islam from those who have hijacked it. Dr. Mohammad Mukhtar Juma, Egypt's Endowments Minister (al-Awqaf), said that his administration has decided to activate the role of Electronic Da'wah, i.e. Islamic Call or Preaching, in raising religious awareness. In this respect, deputy minister for E-Dawah will be appointed; so that preachers will be able to utilize all available means to spread Islamic moderate thought, and to counteract extremist ideologies in swifter and wiser ways.
