‘Al-Abd': establishing a branch of Al-Azhar University in New Valley

Cairo - Dr. ‘Ossama Al-Abd', the head of the religious affairs and endowments committee in the House of Representatives announced the approval of Dr. ‘Ibrahim Hodhod', the head of Al-Azhar University on the establishment of a branch of the University in New Valley and promised to facilitate all the difficulties in this regard.
This happens on the third day of the committee's visit to the governorate of New Valley to discuss the briefing request submitted by ‘Bardees Seif Al-Deen Omran' in order to remove all the obstacles laid on the way of the establishment of a branch of Al-Azhar University in the city of Dakhla. It is noteworthy that Dr. ‘Abdel Hai Azab, the University ex-President laid the foundation stone of this branch in 2015.
On Saturday dawn, the committee headed to "Dakhla" to have a look on the location of the University branch. Then, it held a meeting with the head of the city, the director of Al-Azhar Administration and the architectural administration director of the Al-Azhar directorate in New Valley.
All the obstacles which hinder the establishment of Al-Azhar University branch were discussed and the architectural administration director confirmed that the building is equipped with a boarding department for male and female expatriate Al-Azhar students.
It was mentioned that there only 24 male student and there are no female students. Architectural studies were prepared on the three-storeyed building and it was confirmed that there is a possibility of the implementation of architectural adjustments to the building to allow the establishment of lecture halls on the second and the third floors while the first floor could be specified for administration offices.
