German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed deep respect for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the great Egyptian people, hoping to visit Egypt as soon as possible. Merkel gave the remarks during her meeting with Egyptian Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Essam Fayed, currently on a visit to Germany to attend the ninth World Forum for Food and Agriculture. Meanwhile, Fayed said his talks with German Bundestag member Alexander Radwan covered boosting cooperation between Germany and Egypt, which is now launching a number of mega projects, including the 1.5-million-feddan project. Talks also covered possible cooperation in the domains of advanced irrigation technology, cattle raising and fattening and dairy production, especially baby formula. While in Germany, the minister held several meetings on the sidelines of the forum, including a meeting with senior German officials and representatives of major German companies to benefit from agricultural experiments based on modern techniques and scientific methods. Fayed left for German on Wednesday to take part in the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, an international conference organized by Germany on the subject "Agriculture and Water - Key to Feeding the World". Agriculture ministers of 65 countries attend the event.
