Unidentified militants kidnapped six Egyptian workers in Libya, asking for LD 100 thousand in ransom to release them, Youm7 News reported Tuesday. The workers were kidnapped during their return to Egypt, when militants blocked their, and escorted them to unknown place between Beni Walid and Misurata, assistant foreign minister Hisham el-Naqib said. El-Naqib affirmed that Egypt is cooperating with Libyan authorities to liberate its nationals, and arrest the kidnappers as soon as possible. The ministry renewed its warning against traveling to Libyan territories, due to the unrest it witnesses since the ousting of Guddafi. In early 2015, 21 Egyptians were beheaded by the terrorist group, Islamic State (IS).
