Mamish pointed out that 23 ships weighing 1.6 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal while 23 ships weighing 1.2 million tons have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north of the canal was the Danish "MUNKEBO MAERSK" container ship weighing 200 thousand tons, coming from Netherlands heading to Singapore, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Panamanian "MSC LONDON" container ship weighing 182 thousand tons.
