Egypt's Armed forces killed 15 Wilayat Sinai terrorist group's militants and wounded eight others in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, Al-Bawaba News reported Thursday. The army also succeeded to destroy four vehicles and two buildings, as well as defusing 54 improvised explosives devices in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid, Arish and Rafah cities. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army and police have been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel. In 2014, the group announced its allegiance to Islamic State jihadist group.
