U.S. Central Command announced Monday in a press release published on its official website that it has launched 17 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria. The command said that the US-led coalition warplanes conducted 10 airstrikes on IS sites in Iraq, destroying two tactical units, two vehicles, oil pump-jack, weapons storage facility and rocket rail. It added that the other seven airstrikes were carried out on areas controlled by IS in Syria, destroying improvised weapons factory, a tactical unit, two fighting position, tunnel entrances, three bunkers and other targets. The coalition has launched its war against IS in August 2014.
