Armed forces thwarted Tuesday a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Bir Lahven district, south Arish city, in the North Sinai governorate, Al Bawaba News reported. The attack was carried out by two trucks carrying nine Wilayat Sinai militants, who opened fire on the security checkpoint, wounding three conscripts. However, the armed forces managed to repel the attack, killing two militants and wounding three others, forcing the trucks to abandon the attack and flee the crime scene. All three conscripts were rushed into the nearest military hospital and their medical condition is stable.
