Egyptian Parliament condemns Assad's regime violations in Aleppo
Published in Albawaba on 01 - 05 - 2016

Members of the Egyptian Parliament condemned the attacks launched by Syrian President, Bashar Al-Assad regime on civilian in Aleppo city over the last two days, Al-Bawaba News reported.
MP Abdel Rehim Ali has slammed in a statement the positions of the Arab League and the Arab Parliament towards massacres between rival factions in Syria, calling for "the" warring factions to cease all military operations and mutual shelling, which left hundreds of victims killed and wounded.
"I still believe that the use of armed violence will not lead to resolving the Syrian crisis, which lasted nearly for five years, and that Syria has smart minds who can reach a political solution on the basis of the principle of territorial integrity," Ali said.
He added that the language of weapons and allowing the interference of regional countries in the crisis has brought Syria to the case of displacement of about six million citizens and the destruction of more than 70 percent of Syrian cities.
The last week's shelling in Aleppo has killed about 34 children and 20 women, in addition to the demolition of hundreds of homes and the displacement of thousands, in the worst military operations taking place in Syria since the start of the crisis, the statement added.
"We have conducted a series of contacts to know the situation there, and I am appalled by the outcomes not only in Aleppo, but in the whole Syrian territories as well," the statement read.
Ali demanded the Syrian government and opposition to negotiate in order to achieve peace as well as preventing terrorism from expanding its influence in Syria.
He stressed at the end of his statement that the Turkish and Iranian interventions will not solve the crisis, pointing out that the crisis will be solved only by Syrians.
For its part, Foreign Affairs Committee at the parliament, headed by Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, condemned in a statement the escalating situation in Syria, praising the "wisdom of the Egyptian regime" that provided a number of solutions in order to end the crisis.
The committee stressed in its statement that what is happening is a crime against humanity and the rules and the laws of war and the battles in any form, is tolerated by the international community and all that happens in Syria for years is the involvement in the crime.
The committee added that the political solution had become an urgent need to stop the bloodshed that is happening in Syria.
Secretary of the Foreign Relations Committee Tarek Al-Khouly said that the images that come from Syria reflect the crime happening there.
Khouly added that the Syrian people are paying the price of the political parties' conflict, stressing on the need for a real Arab and international action to force all parties to stop the bloodshed as well as offering a road map for the political future in Syria without harming the unity of the country.
