Minister of international cooperation, Sahar Nasr will return Saturday to Cairo coming from Washington, after heading an Egyptian delegation in the World Bank meetings, Al Bawaba News reported. Nasr said in a statement to reporters that the results of the meetings, included the nomination of Egypt in the first group of 22 countries for the program, which aims to achieve UN development goals. She pointed out that UN development goals, which amount to 16 goals, include the fight against poverty, hunger, illiteracy and discrimination against women, which contribute to the overall development goals targeted by the Egyptian government. Also, she stressed that women's participation in society promotes economic growth, as women are considered to be a strong factor in social progress, adding that empowerment of women is vital for achieving comprehensive and sustainable growth.
