Egyptian army killed eight militants in North Sinai's Rafah city, Al Bawaba News reported Tuesday. The army's Sa'ka (Thunderbolt) forces launched several raids targeting terrorist hideouts in Rafah, killing eight militants as well as arresting 35 others. The army also succeeded to defuse two improvised explosive devices planted on one of North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid roads. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army and police have been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against terrorist groups in Sinai after they had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
