Turkish warplanes conducted a wide-scale air operation on Feb. 17 targeting outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions in northern Iraq. The Turkish Air Force jets targeted around a group of 70 including the top executives of the PKK in the Haftanin region in northern Iraq. The operation came hours after a deadly car bomb attack targeting shuttles carrying military personnel in Ankara, which killed at least 28 and injured 61 others.
