President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Tuesday Iraqi defense minister, Khaled Al Obaidi, to discuss counter terrorism efforts, Al Bawaba News reported. Minister of defense, Sedky Sobhy and Iraqi ambassador in Cairo, have attended the meeting. Presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said that the Iraqi minister had delivered greetings of the Iraqi President, Fuad Maasum and Prime Minister, Haider Al Abadi to Al Sisi, wishing Egypt would continue success and stability. The Iraqi minister stressed on the strength of relations between the two countries and expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's support for Iraq's efforts to restore security and stability, as well as its fight against terrorism, Youssef added. Youssef pointed out that Al Obaidi praised the importance of Egypt's pivotal role in the region and revealed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation in various fields with Egypt, especially in the military one.
