Professor at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), Abbas Mohamed Abbas said in a statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) that the Japanese radar reveals contrast of physical properties of Tutankhamun's rubble. Abbas revealed that GPR radar, which is manufactured by Japanese technology, has been used at a frequency of 400 MHz in the scanning of Tutankhamun's tomb in Luxor's Valley of the Kings. He pointed out that the radar scanning process comes amid efforts to check British Egyptologist, Nicholas Reeves' theory, which suggests that Queen Nefertiti is buried inside one of the rooms behind Tutankhamun's tomb. Furthermore, he stressed that he accompanied Minister of Antiquities, Mamdouh al-Damaty, Reeves and Japanese expert, Hirokatsu Watanabe, during the radar scanning process, which took place over the past three days in Tutankhamun's tomb. He explained that the radar is a device which sends electromagnetic waves that have the ability to penetrate the layers of earth or walls and by analyzing those waves mathematically and geologically, it can be detected whether there is something behind it through the radar readings.
