Egypt's Arab Contractors company resumed Wednesday the restoration works of Al-Zahir Baybars mosque after four years of suspension, Al-Bawaba News reported. The Antiquities Ministry affiliated projects sector sent a notification to the company to resume the restoration works of the mosque which have started in 2006 due to its deteriorated condition. Al-Bawaba News, in addition to several media outlets, had launched campaigns urging the resumption of one of Cairo's largest old mosques which was built in the 13th century.
