Minister of Social Solidarity, Ghada Waly returned Saturday to Cairo after participating in World Bank's South-South Forum on Social Protection, held in China from November 9 until 13, Al Bawaba News reported. The 2015 South-South Learning Forum on "Emerging Social Protection Systems in an Urbanizing World," saw the attendance of representatives from 75 countries. Egypt was representing the Middle East and North Africa regions at the forum. The minister pointed out to the challenges faced by expanding the conditional cash support on the "dignity and interdependence" program, which is considered to be a pioneering experiment carried out by Egypt in the Arab region. The Forum also discussed a number of issues related to emerging knowledge and practical innovations on social protection in urban areas.
