Egyptian security sources said on Friday all airports were under control, stressing security services were on the alert, al-Bawaba News reported. The sources added Minister of Interior Magdi Abdel Ghafar gave his instructions to safeguard all airports and foreign people in Egypt. This came amid a number of western countries suspending their flights from Sharm el-Sheikh airport following a suspected terror attack targeting a passenger Russian plane in Egypt's Sinai earlier this week leaving 224 killed.
