Three suspects were detained in operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) launched in three districts of Istanbul early on Sept. 2, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. Istanbul's anti-terror police and special forces units launched simultaneous raids on 12 addresses in Istanbul's Esenyurt, Bagcılar and Kucukcekmece districts in the early hours of Sept. 2. Police detained three suspects thought to be members of the PKK in the raids, which were supported with choppers. One automatic shotgun, documents allegedly belonging to the PKK, and digital instruments, were also seized. As part of the operation, a raid was launched on an internet café in the Kanarya neighborhood of the Kucukcekmece district, Dogan News Agency reported. The special forces unit raided the café at around 5 a.m., seizing footage from the café's surveillance camera and other material. Small-scaled anti-riot vehicles stood guard at the two ends of the street where the raid was conducted, guarding against any possible attacks from the targeted residents.
