On the second day of its reopening, 712 stranded Palestinians entered Egypt through Rafah border crossing, and 1,047 others returned to Gaza, Aswat Masriya reported Wednesday. Egyptian authorities affirmed that 157 Palestinians arrived at the Cairo International Airport on Wednesday, most of them heading to Gaza, Al Bawaba news reported. Egypt on Monday opened the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip in both directions for four days, upon the request of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to ease the burden on the stranded Palestinians.
