Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi said Monday during a meeting with African newspapers chief editors that Egypt respects and appreciates the role of the media, pointing out that the country allows it to work without any restrictions, Al Bawaba News reported. Sisi praised the Egyptian media due to its credibility and positive role in covering Egypt's issues, saying that there are no imprisoned journalists in issues related to publishing or freedom of press. The president added that he did not want to refer any foreign journalist to courts and wanted to deport them to their countries, signaling that many of their cases have been already filed before he came to power.
