Egypt's central bank issued Sunday on behalf of the Ministry of Finance treasury bonds worth seven billion Egyptian pounds, Al Bawaba News reported. A total of three billion pounds will be offered as 91 – day treasury bonds while EGP four-billion bonds will be offered for 273 days, according to the CB's official website. The move comes as a bid to reduce the country's budget deficit which amounted to 251 billion pounds during the fiscal year 2015/2016.
