The Egyptian army killed seven militants related to Wilayat Sinai terrorist group during a military pre-emptive raid witnessed in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city on Monday, Al Bawaba News reported. Security source said that the army had launched several raids targeting terrorist hideouts in Sheikh Zuweid, killing seven militants and arresting 23 others, as well as destroying three terrorist outposts. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
