Italy will not be intimidated by the deadly bombing of its consulate in Cairo, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said on Saturday. In his first comment on the deadly blast, Gentiloni announced on his official Twitter account that the there are no Italian victims. "Our thoughts are with the people affected and with our personnel. Italy will not let itself be intimidated." Gentiloni tweeted shortly after the attack. In phone call, Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry affirmed to Gentiloni that Egypt insists on rooting out terrorism, foreign ministry's spokesperson, Badr Abdel Atty said on Saturday. A powerful bomb ripped through the Italian consulate in Cairo Saturday, killing one person and injuring 9 others. It's the first assault on a foreign mission in Egypt since jihadists launched a campaign against security forces two years ago.
