Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met Thursday with ministers of defense and interior to discuss the anti-terrorism security measures in the Sinai Peninsula, stressing the need for constant vigilance, presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said, Al-Bawaba News reported. The Spokesperson added that the president reviewed with the ministers as well as several high-ranking army leaders the developments of the internal security situation and the security forces' plans to assure the safety and stability of the country. Militancy inside Egypt has seen a significant rise since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, following mass protests against his rule. The majority of attacks occur in North Sinai, targeting security forces.
