An Egyptian court will consider Tuesday the renewal of pending investigation custody of 16 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) defendants in a terror-related case publicly known as the "Podium events" case, Al-Bawaba News reported Monday. The defendants face charges of murdering police personnel, illegal possession of weapons, ammunition and explosives, blocking roads, and sabotage, judicial sources said. The "Podium events" took place during the Rabaa sit-in staged then by the MB group calling for the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
