Egypt's military forces killed Monday five Wilayat Sinai militants in North Sinai's Sheikh Zuweid city, Al Bawaba News reported. Military source said the army raided the militants' strongholds in Toma village in Sheikh Zuweid, killing four militants and arresting 16 others. The source added that the army killed one militant when he was planting an improvised explosive device on the Sheikh Zuweid International Road. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bait Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
