A senior militant of Wilayat Sinai was killed Friday and two others were arrested in North Sinai's Rafah city, as the joint security campaign between the police and the army continues in the troubled Sinai Peninsula, Al Bawaba News reported. Security source said that the army had waged a counter-terror raid on a farm in Rafah, where intensive clashes occurred with the militants. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
