Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) stressed on the urgent need to solve the Yarmouk refugee camp crisis, calling for ousting Islamic State (IS) militants from the camp, Al Bawaba News reported Tuesday. The organization committee urged PLO factions to gather and protect the camp from IS attempts to provoke armed conflict inside it, as well as protecting civilians and establishing humanitarian safe corridors for their exit. The Yarmouk Camp is an unofficial refugee camp established in 1957 in Damascus, Syria. Populated by Palestinians, the camp has hospitals and a school and is considered the largest Palestinian refugee community in Syria. Since 2011, the camp has witnessed fierce clashes between the Free Syrian Army, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and terrorist groups.
