Egypt's Military spokesperson, Brigadier Mohamed Ghoneim announced Sunday that 45 terrorists were killed in a wide range military operation targeting extremists' hideouts in north Sinai. Military air crafts carried out air strikes against jihadists' positions east of Arish Airport leaving 4 militants killed, as ground forces killed 11 others amid fierce gun battles, arresting 17 fugitive criminals and 62 suspects. The forces also destroyed several houses, 13 digger vehicles, and 11 motorcycles without metal plates used in terrorist attacks against military and police personnel. Military forces thwarted an attempt to plant an explosive device on Al Jura road, Sheikh Zuweid , after opening fire on a pick up vehicle leaving three militants killed and two others wounded.
At least 25 jihadists were killed in air strikes in Altoma, Allaftat, Aldiabh, Alebedat , north Sinai, destroying a number of houses, four vehicles, 31 motorcycles belonging to Jihadists. Two militants were killed and another was wounded after exchanging gunfire with security forces in Alsodood, Almatallah, Haq Al Hosan in Rafah. The forces destroyed several militants' locations, and 11 motorcycles. Ghoneim revealed that military forces killed 45 terrorists, arrested 18 fugitives and 79 suspects, destroyed 15 hideouts, 18 vehicles, 53 motorcycles and detonated an explosive device planted by jihadists, from March 8 till March 15.
