Egypt carried out early Saturday the first execution of a defendant belonging to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group (MB), over charges of the premeditated murder of minors in the wake of June 30 uprising, 2013. Interior ministry confirmed Saturday the execution of MB supporter, Mahmoud Ramadan, over charges of killing minors involved in protests against the MB regime in Sidi Gaber, Alexandria July 5, 2013. The ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 was followed by violent clashes between Pro and Anti-MB protestors across the country. Footage of minors being thrown off a building in the Mediterranean city went viral on social networks, helping security authorities identify the perpetrator, Ramadan. Cassation court upheld the death sentence against Ramadan, and life in prison to 57 others, on February 5, for murdering four people and attempted murder of eight others. The MB was labeled a terrorist organization by an Egyptian court in December 2013.
