Al Jama'a Al Islamiya dissident movement in Upper Egypt rejected the request made by its branches in Cairo and Damietta to the prosecution's office to designate the group as terrorist and dissolve it. Spokesman of the Al Jama'a Al Islamiya Reform Front in Upper Egypt, Abdel Rahman Saqr, told Al Bawaba News that the front was part and parcel of the group and if the latter were to be labeled as terrorist, so will the front. Saqr said that insisting on dissolving the group and excluding it from the political scene will: "pour fuel on the fire of chaos and make it easier for the fugitive leaders in Qatar and Turkey to exploit the situation and incite violence among members of the group, driving them to declare war on the Egyptian state."
