Russia's President Vladimir Putin will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi during a two-day official visit to Egypt on February 9 to discuss economic and military cooperation between the two countries. During his first official visit, Putin will follow up the agreements that Sisi has reached during his last visit to Moscow in August 2014, as well as the regional and international developments to coordinate the political stances between Egypt and Russia. In August, Sisi visited Moscow again as president and both leaders announced their plans for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, investment and energy. Some sources said that the two presidents' talks will address developing the bilateral military relations, adding that Russia and Egypt will jointly hold military exercises similar to the Bright Star maneuvers that stopped in 2011. A delegation from the Russian presidency arrived to Cairo on Monday in a short visit to prepare for Putin's visit in the coming days.
