Five explosive devices planted by unidentified assailants exploded Tuesday in Fayoum and Zagazig, damaging a power line and several electrical boxes. No casualties have been reported. Fayoum Security authorities received reports on a major explosion caused by 3 explosive packages which detroyed a powerline at the Gerfes village in Fayoum. Bomb disposal officers were deployed to the scene to scan the area for other potential threats.
Security forces also received reports about an explosion which destroyed an electricity box in Zawya village in Fayoum. In Zawya, Civil Protection forces rushed to the scene to scan the area, but no other packages have been found.
An explosion targeting another electricity box in Zeraa Square in Zagazig caused widespread panic among local residents.
Security forces accompanied by paramedics and civil protection personnel were deployed to the scene to eliminate any possible threats.
