Egypt contacted France to shutdown Muslim Brotherhood sponsored TV channels, ministry of foreign affairs spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty stated on Sunday. Abdel Atty said that Egypt urged the French side to ban the broadcasting of MB channels from France, in light of the cooperation and partnership relations that the two countries shares in many fields especially countering terrorism. He explained that such channels incite violence, terrorism and hatred in Egypt through broadcasting their shows on the French satellite. He added that FM Sameh Shoukry also contacted the Egyptian ambassador in France to follow this issue. MB sponsored TV channels such as Rabaa broadcasted a statement to foreign missions and companies as well as the tourists in Egypt, threatening them to leave the country before February 28, otherwise they will be targeted by the group.
