US Embassy in Cairo commemorated the thirteenth anniversary of the murder of US journalist Daniel Pearl, the former director of Wall Street Journal office in Pakistan, where he was kidnapped and slaughtered in the city of Karachi, Albawabanews reported. During the ceremony, Thomas H. Goldberger, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Cairo, stressed that the terrorism, which claimed the lives of the Egyptian soldiers in Sinai, has also killed Pearl in Pakistan thirteen years ago, therefore we support Egypt in its fight against terrorism, which does not respect life. A large number of journalists, intellectuals and ambassadors attended the ceremony, including Badr Abdel Aaty, Egyptian Foreign Minister Spokesperson as well as former Minister of Culture Mohamed El Sawy. An US diplomatic source told Albawabanews that US ambassador to Cairo Robert S Beecroft would arrive to Egypt in mid-November. US Embassy did not confirm the arrival of Beecroft.
